Vacation "Practice"

I am currently in Lake Havasu City, Arizona with Tom. We are having a practice vacation for 5 days. We had hoped to use our time shares while we are in Europe, but no such luck, so we had time that we needed to use up before the end of 2009. We decided to use some of it in Palm Springs at the beginning of July, and some here in Havasu (current temperature approximately 110 degrees/40 degrees Celsius... hey, that doesn't sound so bad when you say it like that!) We are enjoying the airconditioned room! We ventured out after 5 or so to check out the surroundings. It was a hot walk so we hid in our room until 7 and then went out for some "Golden hour" photos. We went out again after dark for some pool time and more photo fun. Tom got some great shots of the London Bridge lit up.

This trip isn't really prcatice for Europe because this is mostly lazy and relaxed. It's good practice for our trip next month with "Top 10" to Palm Springs. The European Adventure will be full of go, go, go days.

A pillow in Rome

I just booked the final destination for our European Adventure. We will be staying in an apartment in Rome for our final night. It's called The Beehive and is a bargain at 70 euros a night. Unheard of in Rome. The owners are two Americans with an Italian dream. They have an organic vegetarian cafe on the premises with no set menu or fixed prices. You pay what you think the meal was worth. What a follow up to the organic agritourismo we will spend four nights in prior to Rome. My vegetarian spirit is soaring!
