Oh, My Bags are Packed, I'm Ready to go....

I gathered all of my travel goodies yesterday and packed my backpack. People who know me know I am nearly a genius :) when it comes to packing loads of "stuff" into very small places. Well, I intentionally choose a very small backpack so I had to limit the amount of "stuff" that I was able to take with me to Europe. I guess I briefly forgot about how good I really am. The following is a list of what's in my bag:

2 camisoles
3 Tshirts
3 short sleeved shirts
3 long sleeved shirts
3 pair of pants
6pair of undies/ 1 bra
1 pair of PJs
1 bathing suit
3 pieces of long underwear
1 coat
1 pair of shoes
3 scarves
1 pashmina shawl
Vitamins, Ibuprofen, etc. for 7 weeks
Make up/ toiletries
Miscellanious personal items (tweezers, nail clippers etc)
Headbands, hairbands and brush
1 silk sleeeping bag
Waterbottle
Fork,knife spoon (for picnics!)
1 travel journal
6 watercolor pencils
1 paintbrush
1 gluestick
1 netbook computer
7 granola bars
2 reusable grocery bags
1 flashlight
1 compass
and as soon I get some new socks...
3 pairs of socks!

I'm sure there are some things I have forgotten, but.... pretty impressive huh? Don't get me started on what I have got stuffed into my camera bag!

How much does the backpack weigh?? Well, when I slug it over one shoulder, it nearly knocked me off my feet. I'm afraid to know for sure....

I tossed my cookies!

While preparing my new netbook for my trip, I installed an anti-spam program. It found 11 (eleven!) cookie trackers that came installed on my computer. They had my name attached to their addresses. Talk about "Big Brother". Well, I found them, and I tossed them! (I hope!!)

Testing, one, two

I realized today that I had some essential things missing from my cool new netbook. I needed a less memory hogging photo editing program than PSCS2 so I downloaded Picasa3 and I am trying it out. So cool! It includes a "Blog This" button which takes the work out of resizing photos. It also means that I can skip the step of learning how to use Photobucket! I love technology! (disclaimer: when it works easily for me which is mostly never!) So, this is a test of the emergency blogcasting system..... can you hear me now???

By the way, this is my favorite soon to be four year old at Seaport Village in San Diego. Love you mister.

Asleep in the "Skye"

I can hardly imagine it, but one month from tonight I will be asleep in a bed on The Isle of Skye in Scotland. I have been helping plan this portion of my trip for 5 years now, so it's hard to believe that it is so close to beginning!
