We have a departure date for 2011!

Actually, not quite a departure date, but a date to be in Hungary! We are booked at the Anna Grand Hotel in Badenfured, Hungary. (that U needs an umlaut!) It's an old european spa hotel. According to the Rough Guide to Hungary, the newly remodeled Anna "simply oozes class". Ooo! Sounds pretty different from a lot of the places we will probably stay, and will be fun in it's own way. I am looking forward to a massage and possibly something fun like a "coffee wrap"!

We haven't made any further decisions about our departure yet. We may possibly tour  Budapest  for a few days first, or we may head there  following our stay at the Anna.

The 2011 adventure suddenly seems so much more real now that we have our first reservation booked!

Our next adventure is in the works!

We have completely changed our plan.... we thought we were going to Spain and Portugal. After dipping our toes into Eastern Europe, we have decided to go to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey instead! Quite a change, but we are looking forward to the adventure.

Tom ordered some travel books the other night, and the first, "Turkey" by Lonely Planet arrived today. Looks like he is anxious to start planning! Our good "friend" Rick Steves doesn't have Eastern European guides so we had to branch out.

Neither of us speaks a word of any language of the countries we plan to visit. Most aren't on the Euro either. Both of these things will really add to the challenges of visiting these countries, but that is why we made the change. Adventure!
