We are going to France!!!

It's official! Flights are booked, or in my case changed, and the four of us are going to Spain and France in 54 days (34 for me!!!!)

Non Euroadventure travel

Thought it was time to get add a few "practice" trips that I have taken this year. It's tough to travel out of a backpack for 5 or 6 weeks and demands lots and lots of practice closer to home to perfect my techniques ;)

What a difference a day makes

As plans for our upcoming trip to Spain fall into place a new development ....
I have a friend who planned for years to take a trip to Paris and other destinations in France. This was her dream trip and a 50th birthday present to herself. The plan was to go with a relative who had a family connection in France. At the last minute the family member couldn't make the trip and the family home was sold, so no trip for my friend.

Not one to stand by while a friend's travel dreams are crushed I decided to help make her trip happen and went in search of a France "deal". I found two timeshare deals in France. One in Mougins (think French Riviera) and one in Paris. These weeks just happened to coincide with our trip to Spain. My friend and I put out the call for roomies (we had booked rooms for four), and low and behold two roommates appeared! Within one day we had found the rooms, decided to actually go, and signed on two roommates. Four spontaneous decisions to travel half way around the world. Amazing.

Once again, I am lucky enough to be spending an extended period of time in Europe during the fall. This year it will be a total of 5 weeks. Three will be in Spain and two in France.

My girlfriends and I have had two France planning meetings in the week and a half since we booked the trip. There is a very aggressive search for reasonable airfare going on and we are burning up the internet sites that pertain to anything French. I am pretty certain that between the four of us we have every France travel guide currently in print.

By my quick calculations we' re 44 days away from Spain departure. Insanely excited.
