Ciao, Roma!

This is the final foreign installment for this trip. Tom and I head to the airport early tomorrow morning and will be home tomorrow night. We gain so many hours going home we will arrive the same day we leave Rome, even though we fly forever.

We had some difficulties getting the rental car returned (let's just call it "Lost in Rome" and leave it at that. We returned it a half hour early though and it was perfect timing to check into our final place. We quickly dropped off our stuff and headed out the door to enjoy the final hours of our wonderful European Adventure.

We went by metro back to the Coloseum, where we hit the first restaurant with outdoor seating. We sat next to the Coloseum  while we ate (talk about a view!), and then headed to Palatine Hill. After  photos there we went for and evening stroll to the Spanish Steps. It was a glorious evening to be outside. We made a quick trip back to the Coloseum for some night shots. Beautiful!

We finished the night with Gelato and a stop at the Termini to buy our train tickets for tomorrow.

All I can say about that is, Boo Hoo.

Tom says "How can the next trip begin if this one doesn't end?" Now there is a smart man.
