We decided to leave the rental behind today and make the trip to Rome on the bus. What a great decision! We hit the road early, catching the 8:30 bus after a quick breakfast at the farm.
We decided to ride on the top oif the double decker bus...until my tummy said NO. Moved downstairs to the only two seat together... at the very back of the bus. My tummy quickly said %#$$ NO! Tom and I ended up sitting apart for the two hour ride. This was the most time we have spent apart in the last month! I rlly missed him and don't know what I'll do without him when he goes back to (bad word, bad word... OK I'll say it WORK).
Besides this little glitch, the day was perfect. The weather in Rome was gorgeous, we made every metro connection flawlessly, and the city was so clean! (you remember Naples, right?)
We went to St. Peter's basillica, then to the Colloseum and after that to the Roman Forum. We captured some reallybeautiful photographs. Tom was so happy that we made the decision to visit Rome. He was not too intersted in the beginning, based on some things said to him by an aquaintance ( see, don't take my word abouot Naples.....visit it yourself and decided if it's.... well, let's not go into that again!). I really wanted to visit Rome again so we put it on the list. I'm glad he enjoyed the day.
We leave the farm tomorrow morning and head back to Rome. We plan to turn in the rental early and use the metro for the remainder of the day. Tomorrow will be our final day in Europe for this go around, but we already have plans in the works for next year.
