Livin on Florida time...

Well, my adventure has begun! I arrived in Florida (the first leg of my journey) on Thursday afternoon. I am adapting more quickly than usual to the time difference, for which I am very grateful. I have a 6 hour time change when I arrive in Edinburgh and this three hour bite out of that will make a big difference when I jump in the rental car (after flying all night) and have to "keep left"!

I arrived here without incident, and I was able to manage my backpack I had some extra items that needed to come to Florida, but don't need to go on to Europe with me. I figured if I can make it here I can make it anywhere (hey, isn't that a song???) I did a backpack weigh in upon arrival, and it weighed 20 pounds on the nose. Funny how 20 lbs. can feel like, oh I don't know... half my body weight, when it's on my back! I figured out that more than 10% of that weight is my nifty little computer that will be updating this blog and will be keeping me connected to the world back home. Not a bad deal for a computer that cost me only 14 cents (ah! you're curious aren't you?) and weighs in at 2.25 lbs.

After years of planning,3 days, 14 hours and some odd minutes later, I will be a true Euroadventurer once again!! To say that I am giddy with excitement would be an understatement... although 55/60 degrees and rain everyday predicted in Edinburgh does give this Southern California girl pause....
