We spent the day traveling to Limerick for their Milk Market, and then on to Cork and Kinsale.
The Milk Market was not as big as we had both expected. Having been to large market all over Europe, we expected something 2-4 times as big and busy. We purchased lunch items and we also each found a few other bargains before we departed for Cork.
Everyone told us " don't drive in Cork". Well, I guess to us, that sounded like a challenge because not only did we not by pass Cork, but we drove directly through the middle of it. We decided that we wanted to see what was in Kinsale instead so after passing through Cork went venture on to Kinsale, a small waterfront fishing village.
Upon arrival in Kinsale, I jumped out of the car to search for a ticket machine to pay for parking . I was confused to find a car blocking my path to the machine.... Confused because I couldn't figure out why there was a car on the sidewalk. As I passed the car on the sidewalk, and the crowd around it, I noticed a profusion of cars all mashed together. Apparently a woman of advanced years hit the gas instead of the brake, accelerated at a high enough rate that she forced a car from its parking spot, up onto the sidewalk, and into about 4 other cars. Welcome to Kinsale...glad we hadn't arrived 5 minutes sooner because it had just happened and the Garda (police) hadn't even arrived.
We did a bit of shopping, walked around this beautiful little town, and picnicked on the waterfront before heading home.
We have arrived home between 10/10:30 each night because the daylight lasts so long. It's great for being a tourist but dinner at 11 pm is tough.
