Things haven't started off well on our Irish holiday. I am currently sitting alone in the O'Hare airport while my sister/ traveling companion sits alone in the Tampa airport. We were scheduled to meet up in Chicago and fly to Dublin together, however due to mechanical difficulties carrie's flight was cancelled. The best the airline could do for her was a flight to Miami, then London, and finally Dublin....7 hours after we were supposed to arrive together. Hopefully this will be what actually occurs. We are concerned because there are thunderstorms in the Miami area which may effect her departure for London.
Once I reach Dublin it would be nice if I could take care of all the business we had intended to take care of upon arrival but running all over a strange city alone, with my backpack on my back doesn't sound fun. We had planned to leave our bags at our hotel before setting off to buy Irish SIM cards for our phones, Heritage Passes, etc.
I am thinking positively that this delay will be a small bump in the road and that the rest of the trip will run smoothly... Fingers crossed.
