The good, the bad, and the ugly..... October 16

Well, a lot has changed since the last post, and unfortunatly some hasn't.

My sweetheart left for home on the 13th (sort of), and my girlfriends arrived safely in Barcelona.

The story about Tom is, he said goodbye and headed off to the airport. He sat waiting at the airport for hours during "maintenance", boarded the plane and waited (maintenance)"  only to be taken off the plane and to a hotel for the night (due to maintenance). Annoying, I am sure, but better to spend a night alone in a hotel rather than tragedy in the air.

My girlfriends arrived in the morning and had their first European Metro ride to meet me at Barcelona Sants
train station. The prearranged meeting went off without a hitch and we were off on the metro to find our hostel. We checked in there and wandered off to find lunch. We spent the evening adjusting to time changes and the ladies had a bread, cheese, and olive assortment and wine dinner. The following day Deainn and I stayed at the hostel while Lauri and JoBeth followed a carefully laid out (by me) itinerary of the Barcelona must see sites. They had a great day and arrived back at the hostel just in time to pack up so we could catch our night bus to Nice.

So, as to why I have been absent from blogging....I have continued to be sick. It finally became too much. I was too tired, too worn down and sick of being sick. I decided I needed medical attetion but I didn't want to go in Barcelona becasue I was afraid they might want to admit me to the hospital. If I was admitted in Barcelona my girlfriends would need to move on because our accommodations were in France. Because of that I decided to wait and make that the first stop in France. Picture "Don Quixote's revenge", and a 12 hour bus ride with no bathroom.... That was the consequence of my choice....

I plan to catch up on the missed days blogging but needed to let everyone know I am still alive. More about the hospital to follow, but for now, I went from barely eating a cup of food a day to being on no food (doctors orders) for several days.Think of all the money I am saving on eating!
