Today was a Git it done kind of day in Paris. Everyone has a list of "must do's", "would like to do's" and "should do's".
We bought our museum passes and broke them in at Saint Chappelle. Gorgeous, amazing, beautiful chapel with the most incredible stained glass windows.
After Saint Chappelle we headed to the Archeological Museum to see some ancient Roman ruins discovered in the depths of Paris.
After a quick trip to see the ruins we entered Notre Dame just in time to enjoy Sunday mass. I am not a Catholic, but still, what an amazing expeprience to listen to the mass and congregation singing while we toured this historic Church. After standing on the spot from which all places in France are measured (just in front of Notre Dame) we explored the beautiful grounds and parks surrounding the church. We were fortunate enough to have a much warmer day than we had the day before also, which made the entire day more enjoyable.
After Notre Dame we took our friend Rick's tour of historic Paris. We saw the Ille d Cite, Ille St. Louis, the Left Bank (We stopped at a walk up creperie and ordered crepes which we took to the banks of the Seine for a mid day picnic). After our impromptu picnic we saw Boulevard St. Michel , the narrowest house in Paris, the Shakespeare bookshop and the Latin Quarter. We stopped in the Latin Quarter at a sidewalk cafe and had an afternoon pick me up. Lauri checked an item off her To Do list by enjoying a bowl of delicious looking Onion Soup.
After the cafe we headed back to our resort to clean up for our dinner date with the Most Interesting Man in the World.
