On our first day in Venice we napped and then went out to discover our neighborhood. We found the supermarket and bought a few groceries. We are cooking in a lot while in Venice. We have the fun Italian cooking utensils in the apartment, and everything’s pricey here, it’s a perfect way to budget.
The grocery store is one of my favorite adventures, but not so much for Tom, so we usually try to get in and get out. There is very little to choose from, and very little choice amongst items. For example, we bought a jar of pasta sauce and we had two choices…large and small. We got enough to get us through until the green market is open. We managed to find our way around pretty well, only using the map a few times.
All of this took hours of course because there was much photography involved.
