We spent our day doing a few chores like finding a memory stick for Tom’s photos, getting some drinking water, and taking in the laundry we hung the night before. (we have a washer and dryer but my travel stuff is better off “done domestically”) It is great not to have to hand wash for a change.
We went to a town that Luke recommended called Plat. We walked the beach along the shoreline, and of course, spent the morning taking beautiful photos.
We returned to our place, grabbed our picnic and headed for another beach that Luke showed us a shortcut to. It was a beautiful wooded path, after we walked through the neighbors olive grove. (beautiful, and the trees were heavy with several different types of olives)
After descending MANY stairs, we found the beach. We ate our picnic and the went for a swim. The water felt warmer at 2 in the afternoon that it had the day before at 5:30 in the evening. We lazed the afternoon away reading and cigar smoking. (alright, you know who was doing the reading and who was doing the cigar smoking! Cuban, by the way!) After a final swim we climbed those stairs to retrieve our cameras for the incredible sunset from our beach.
We went out for pizza, as we had the night we arrived. Too yummy to not get more. We each got a large so we would have picnic food for tomorrow.
We are discovering, as all longer time travelers do, that you have to slow things down after awhile. The constant GO, GO will kill you.
