Denia Castle, Monday, October 3

We arrived late to our new place, due to the accident, and because it was late we had trouble findingouor place.
We decided to take it easy the next day because the accident had left us more sore than we expected. We took a walk along the waterfront and picked up some water at a store open on Sunday (rare, and a lucky break)

On Monday we went out to walk the town and see the castle of Denia. We discovered that in Denia they take their siesta seriously. Everything (including sights like the castle, much to our dismay) except some of the sidewalk cafes close their doors from 1 until 3. Many stay closed until 5pm. When we found the castle closed we choose a cafe to relax in until things opened up again. We sat drinking Cafe con Leche and Zuma Najaranga (orange juice) and chatting with a British expat.  He was a nice guy and overall we enjoyed the conversation. I taken back a bit when he told us that the British people think Americans are loud, boorish know it alls. (is that something you say to someone who is a complete stranger, and an American?) (by the way, I have been told on MANY occasions that this is NOT the truth, and NOT the way the British really feel as a whole) Other than this bump in the conversational road, the converstaion was lively and entertaining. He was about 75 years old, so that may explain his position on a lot of things.

After our siesta break we explored the castle which was unspectacular, but interesting, and it lies in a beautiful  piney forest setting, high on a hill with amazing views over looking Denia and the Golf De Valencia.

We grocery shopped on the walk home and that evening we used the jacuzzi and sauna that we paid an extra 20 euros to have access to.

After my sauna I was exhausted and sore. Every bone in my body, every inch of my skin, every hair on my head hurt. We Skyped with Kallen, Mykael, and the kids. I told them I still felt pretty bad, and it must be from the accident. I wish....
